2215 S MICHIGAN CHICAGO

Todd Halamka + Partners has been commissioned to design new management offices, locker rooms, shower facilities, and dining space for Hilton Hotels, located in an existing historic Motor Row District structure.  Adjacent to 123 E Cermak, a new 3 brand Hilton hotel designed by TH+P, the design for 2215 S Michigan Ave introduces a complementary yet contrasting modern interior aesthetic that showcases the building’s industrial origins.  A nearly windowless space, the management office portion of the floor is organized around a monumental new skylight that intends to fill the space with natural light and encourage collaboration between its occupants.  Selection of wall, floor and ceiling materials, finishes and lighting, purposefully reinforce the idea of a shared knowledge workspace.
