GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION
GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS
The Global Headquarters for the General Motors Corporation at Renaissance Center in Detroit is a nearly 6 million square foot renovation, adaptive re-use and new construction project in the heart of the City of Detroit. Beginning with a 6 month master planning effort followed by a comprehensive architecture and engineering design phase, the GM Ren Cen brings together the North American and Global leadership of the company in one location and includes hotel, retail, and museum functions. The 5 towers and podium building design reconfigured existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing plant facilities, parking, retail, and office functions through the introduction of a new all-glass Winter Garden, Circulator Ring, Gallery Hall and front Entrance Pavilion that materially and symbolically open the new headquarters to the city of Detroit.
