MANULIFE HEADQUARTERS, BOSTON
The US Headquarters for Manulife Financial in Boston employs an ultra-high efficiency intelligent mechanical system and double glazed exterior envelope with a fully integrated architecture and engineering design to deliver a state of the art sustainable office building. A large intensive green roof with a 12” vented double-skin curtain wall substantially reduces heating and cooling loads and operation costs while automated in-cavity vertical blinds provide visual glare control across the all-glass facade. This 14- story, 700,000 gsf atrium building provides a unique exterior image and efficient floor plan that anchors the South Boston development corridor at Congress and D Street.
