NOE VENICE, ITALY
Nuovo Ospedale Ecosistema, proposes the partial rebuilding and adaptive re-use of a decaying hospital site on the Venetian island of Lido, Italy. This intervention seeks to establish a master plan framework that encourages community involvement by creating a new social center and series of parks as a destination for residents of the Venetian Lido. The proposal contemplates a physical re-connection of residents to an arts, crafts and education tradition that has been lost. Our design philosophy suggests the introduction of a series of new pedestrian, canal and park spaces forming a fabric quilt of land, water and buildings that focuses on family learning, recreation and pride of place.
