UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN, MADISON
The University of Wisconsin Madison Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research is a cutting edge bio-medical research facility. Connecting to a large clinical hospital, WIMR combines state of the art innovative imaging technology, wet and dry research laboratories, and vivaria. The building provides a platform for advances in research speed to discovery, human trial testing, and eventual cures for cancer. Designed to celebrate the collaborative processes within, WIMR reveals its uses, programmatic stacking and layout thru visually expressed architectural, structural, and MEP systems. Innovative clerestory glazing and light-shelves provide extensive daylight within the collaboration spaces. The exterior and interior materials include exposed concrete, wood, stainless steel, terrazzo, stone, and brick masonry.
